About Us

Cappella Performing Arts Center is located in the heart of downtown La Crosse, Wisconsin, specializing in music education, culture and the performing arts. We are proud to serve as a leading voice, advocate, and destination for art education while making a meaningful impact on the arts regionally, nationally, and globally.

Our Historic Building

Our building was originally the First Methodist Episcopal Church of La Crosse, WI, dedicated in 1886. Since then, it has undergone numerous changes and expansions. We wholeheartedly agree with M. B. Balch’s description of the building in his report from the dedication ceremony: “…it is convenient and durable, ‘a thing of beauty,’ and, as such, ‘a joy forever.’”
